Alessandro Nesta was one of AC Milan’s great modern defenders. He joined in 2002 and brought elegance, anticipation, positioning, and calm authority at centre-back, often reminding fans of Franco Baresi in the way he defended. Milan’s official legends profile notes that he was decisive in the 2003 Champions League final win over Juventus, scoring his penalty in the shootout, and also highlights his goal against Boca Juniors in the 2003 Intercontinental Cup. Across his Milan spell, he became a pillar of Carlo Ancelotti’s side, winning two Champions Leagues, two Serie A titles, and multiple other trophies. He is remembered as one of the classiest defenders in Milan history.
