Dida was one of AC Milan’s great modern goalkeepers and a key figure in the club’s early-2000s success. Milan’s official legends profile says he joined in 1999, became first choice from 2002, and was decisive in the 2003 Champions League final against Juventus by saving three penalties in the shootout at Old Trafford. He combined calm positioning, reach, reflexes, and penalty-saving authority, which made him perfect for Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Milan also credit him with another Champions League triumph in 2007 against Liverpool, plus a Serie A title, Supercoppa Italiana, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup during his time at the club. At his best, Dida gave Milan security in the biggest matches and remains one of the most important goalkeepers in Rossoneri history.
