Jimmy Thelin is Aberdeen’s Swedish head coach, appointed on 16 April 2024 and starting work at Pittodrie in early June 2024 after leaving IF Elfsborg. He arrived with assistants Christer Persson and Emir Bajrami, and spoke about a three-year plan built on culture, development and clear standards. Previously he built his reputation at Jönköpings Södra and Elfsborg (Allsvenskan runner-up 2023). His tenure’s headline moment so far is leading Aberdeen to the Scottish Cup in May 2025, beating Celtic on penalties.
