Eoin Jess is one of Aberdeen’s defining talents of the late-80s/90s: a local attacking midfielder who debuted in a 0–0 draw with Motherwell on 6 May 1989. He broke through as a teenager in the 1989 League Cup run, then later delivered big League Cup moments again in 1995. Across two Pittodrie spells (1989–96 and 1997–2001) he totalled 380 appearances and 94 goals, combining slick close control with late runs and long-range shooting. He won the 1989–90 League Cup, the 1990 Scottish Cup and the 1995–96 League Cup before moving on to Coventry and beyond.
