Luděk Mikloško was one of West Ham United’s most loved goalkeepers and a huge figure in the 1990s. Signed from Baník Ostrava in 1990, he quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his shot-stopping, bravery, and big-match presence. Mikloško played more than 300 times for the club and was central to promotion in 1993 and to keeping West Ham competitive in the Premier League years that followed. He had a calm authority but could also produce dramatic saves when needed. For many supporters, Mikloško represents loyalty, character, and one of the strongest emotional connections between a West Ham player and the fans.
