Cobi Jones is one of the most important players in U.S. men’s national team history. A winger and midfielder, he made a record 164 appearances for the USMNT between 1992 and 2004, played in three World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002), and scored 15 international goals. He is remembered for pace, stamina, and relentless work on the flank rather than flashy numbers. Jones was part of the generation that helped establish the modern USMNT, and he remained the national team’s all-time caps leader for years. He was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2011.
