Bobby Smith was a key striker in Tottenham’s golden early-1960s era—strong, sharp in the box, and a brilliant partner for Jimmy Greaves. He joined from Chelsea in 1955 and scored 208 goals in 317 games, making him one of Spurs’ all-time top scorers. Smith was central to the club’s greatest achievements: the 1961 Double, the 1962 FA Cup, and the 1963 European Cup Winners’ Cup (England’s first European trophy). He wasn’t as flashy as Greaves, but he was ruthless, intelligent, and dependable—an essential piece of Spurs history.
