Gary Lineker’s Spurs spell (1989–1992) was short but hugely productive. Signed from Barcelona, he brought elite penalty-box movement and ruthless finishing, scoring 80 goals in 138 games for Tottenham. He won the 1991 FA Cup, playing alongside (and often benefiting from) Paul Gascoigne’s creativity, and he was consistently among the goals even as the team changed around him. Lineker’s style was classic poacher: sharp runs, one-touch finishes, and calm under pressure—less about flair, more about inevitability. He left in 1992, but his goal record at Spurs is genuinely top-tier.
