Erik Lamela’s Spurs career (2013–2021) was chaos, craft, and commitment in equal measure. Signed as a big-money replacement for Bale, injuries and stop-start form meant he never became the consistent star some expected, but he still left a real mark. Lamela was a fierce presser and a proper wind-up merchant—snapping into tackles, nipping at defenders, and playing with edge. Technically, he had moments of brilliance (especially on his left foot), none bigger than the outrageous rabona goal against Arsenal in 2021. Often frustrating, often useful, always intense—Lamela became a cult hero because he played like it meant everything.
