Derek Johnstone is one of the most iconic players in the history of Rangers F.C.. He played a key role in Rangers’ 1972 European Cup Winners’ Cup triumph, scoring in the semi-final and helping the club secure its only major European trophy. Equally comfortable as a striker or centre-back, he was admired for his strength, commitment and ability to deliver in big matches. A lifelong Rangers supporter, Johnstone’s connection with the club extended beyond his playing career through media work and ambassadorial roles.
