Des Walker is a modern Nottingham Forest icon: a lightning-quick centre-back whose recovery pace and clean tackling made him the core of Brian Clough’s late-era defence. He had two spells at Forest (1984–92 and 2002–04/05), making 408 appearances and scoring one goal. His trophy highlights with Forest include back-to-back League Cups (1989, 1990)—and he was man of the match in the 1990 final. He also lifted the 1992 Full Members’ Cup (Zenith Data Systems Cup) as stand-in captain. His one Forest goal is famous: a rare late surge and finish vs Luton on 1 Jan 1992.
