The 1955 FA Cup was Newcastle United’s last major trophy before the modern era. Newcastle beat Manchester City 3–1 at Wembley, completing a famous hat-trick of FA Cup wins in the 1950s. Goals came from Jackie Milburn, Bobby Mitchell, and George Hannah. Milburn’s opener after just 45 seconds is one of the quickest in final history. The win cemented Newcastle’s reputation as the cup kings of the decade and stood as their last domestic silverware until 2025.
