Jimmy Lawrence is a Newcastle United Hall of Fame great and the club’s record appearance-maker. A Glasgow-born goalkeeper, he joined in 1904 and went on to play 507 times for Newcastle between 1904–1922, anchoring their famous Edwardian side. He was first-choice for 14 seasons and won three league championships during that era. Known as a durable, consistent stopper, he was also renowned for big derby moments—saving four penalties vs Sunderland.
