John Sutton had two spells at Motherwell: 2008–2011 and 2013–2015, becoming a reliable goalscorer and big-game presence at Fir Park. In his first stint he hit 43 goals in 125 games, then returned in 2013 and added 35 goals in 84 appearances—78 goals in 209 games across five seasons. Signature moments include a double in a 2–0 win over Celtic (Feb 2011) and his famous long-range strike in the Scottish Cup semi-final win over St Johnstone (Apr 2011). He also scored twice in the iconic 6–6 draw with Hibs in 2010. Sutton left in June 2015 for St Johnstone after scoring 13 times in his final season.
