Motherwell’s 1990–91 season is legendary because it ended with Scottish Cup glory. Under Tommy McLean, the Steelmen finished 6th in the Premier Division, but saved their best for the cup run. The peak was the 1991 Scottish Cup Final at Hampden (the “Family Final” vs Jim McLean’s Dundee United): Motherwell won 4–3 after extra time in front of 57,319. Goals came from Iain Ferguson, Phil O’Donnell (18), Ian Angus, and extra-time winner Stevie Kirk. They also reached the League Cup quarter-final.
