At Manchester United (2016–2018), Mourinho was all about control, structure, and winning quickly. In his first season, he delivered a trophy treble: Community Shield, League Cup, and the Europa League—the Europa win also got United back into the Champions League. His second season was more about league form, finishing 2nd in the Premier League, but the football was often tense and reactive. A poor start to 2018–19 plus dressing-room friction ended his spell in December 2018.
