Lee Sharpe at Manchester United (1988–1996) was one of the early Premier League era’s most exciting wide players: quick, brave, and brilliant in 1v1s. Usually on the left wing, he mixed direct dribbling with end product—crosses, cut-ins, and a knack for spectacular goals. He was a key part of United’s breakthrough team under Sir Alex, winning three Premier League titles (1993, 1994, 1996) and two FA Cups (1994, 1996). His United story is basically “what might’ve been”: injuries and then Ryan Giggs’ rise limited his role, and he left for Leeds in 1996, still remembered as a proper cult favourite.
