Rafael and Fábio da Silva were United’s Brazilian twin full-backs—signed from Fluminense as teenagers and brought into the first team around 2008. Rafael (right-back, 2008–2015): The more successful twin at United. Aggressive, quick, and fearless, he became first-choice under Sir Alex at times, especially in 2012–13 when United won the league. His intensity could boil over (reds and rash tackles), but he was a proper Old Trafford crowd favourite. Fábio (left-back/right-back, 2008–2014): Similar energy and technique, but less consistent and more stop-start with injuries and competition. He had good spells (especially early on) but never fully nailed a long-term role, eventually going on loan and then leaving. Together they’re remembered fondly: raw, fun, and pure Ferguson-era chaos.
