Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s “scorpion kick” is one of the most iconic goals of the post-Ferguson era at United. On 26 December 2016 (Boxing Day) vs Sunderland at Old Trafford, he came off the bench and met a low cross with his back to goal, flicking the ball with a scorpion-style back-heel volley that looped in for United’s third in a 3–1 win. It instantly went viral, won Premier League Goal of the Month (Dec 2016), and is still used as a highlight of United’s best moments under José Mourinho.
