Anthony Martial’s Manchester United spell (2015–2024) was a mix of early hype and frustrating stop-start form. Signed from Monaco as a teenager for a big fee, he announced himself with that debut goal vs Liverpool and won the 2015 Golden Boy award. At his best he was a smooth, direct forward—sharp dribbler, clever runs, composed finishing—peaking in 2019–20 when he finished as United’s top scorer with 23 goals. Injuries and inconsistency then blunted his impact; he had a Sevilla loan in 2022 and left when his contract ended in June 2024.
