Henrik Larsson’s Manchester United spell (Jan–May 2007) was a short loan, but it felt perfect. Brought in from Helsingborg while he was still playing for Sweden, he gave United a different kind of No.9: clever movement, smart link-up play, and absolutely elite finishing without needing many touches. He scored 3 goals in 13 appearances—including important strikes against Aston Villa and Fulham—and, more than the numbers, he raised the level in training and in the dressing room (Fergie loved him). United went on to win the 2006–07 Premier League, and Larsson left with a medal and a cult-hero aura.
