Mason Greenwood’s Man United career was a tale of explosive promise and an abrupt stop. An academy product, he broke through in 2018–19 and quickly became known for two-footed finishing and sharp movement, peaking in 2019–20 as one of Europe’s standout teenagers. In total he scored 35 goals in 129 appearances for United’s first team. He last played for United in January 2022, after which he was suspended following an arrest; the legal case was later dropped. United later decided he would leave, and he eventually moved on permanently in 2024.
