Duncan Edwards was one of Manchester United’s greatest early talents and the standout symbol of the Busby Babes. A powerful, versatile half-back, he combined strength, passing range, leadership and maturity far beyond his age. United say he made his first-team debut at 16, became the youngest post-war England international in 1955, and was already a first-team favourite while still a teenager. He helped United win the league titles in 1955–56 and 1956–57, plus the 1957 FA Charity Shield. His career was tragically cut short when he died, aged 21, from injuries sustained in the Munich Air Disaster in February 1958.
