Wes Brown at Manchester United (1998–2011) was the definition of a Ferguson-era squad pillar: tough, quick, and totally reliable across the back line. A United academy product, he played centre-back and right-back, often trusted in big games because he was strong 1v1, good in the air, and didn’t panic under pressure. His biggest moment is the 2008 Champions League final—he started at right-back and helped shut down Chelsea before United won on penalties. Brown won multiple Premier League titles and other major trophies, then left for Sunderland in 2011. Not flashy, but a proper winner.
