Jack Grealish’s Man City spell has been about control more than numbers. City signed him from Aston Villa in August 2021 for a British-record £100m on a long deal, mainly to add ball security, 1v1 pressure, and chance creation from the left. At his peak he was a key cog in the 2022–23 treble season—drawing fouls, keeping attacks ticking, and helping City suffocate teams. Form/injuries and competition for places later reduced his minutes, and he joined Everton on a 2025–26 loan (with an option) before suffering a foot stress fracture.
