Gaël Clichy’s Man City spell (2011–2017) was all about reliability on the left. Signed from Arsenal in July 2011 for a fee reported around £7m, he became a steady, athletic left-back—quick in recovery, aggressive 1v1, and tidy in possession—often rotating with Aleksandar Kolarov depending on the opponent. He made 203 appearances in all competitions (including 138 league games) and won major honours: two Premier League titles (2011–12, 2013–14), two League Cups (2013–14, 2015–16) and the 2012 Community Shield.
