Micah Richards is one of Man City’s most-loved modern homegrown players. A powerful, explosive right-back, he broke through in 2005 and became a symbol of City’s pre-Guardiola rise—pace, strength, and huge personality. He even became City’s youngest first-team captain in 2007. Injuries later slowed his momentum, but he was part of the squad that won the 2011 FA Cup and the iconic 2011–12 Premier League title. After a loan at Fiorentina and time at Aston Villa, he retired in 2019 and moved into punditry.
