Andy Robertson at Liverpool (signed 2017 from Hull) became the prototype Klopp full-back: relentless engine, aggressive defending, and constant overlapping to create chances. He’s a high-volume runner who presses, wins duels, and then instantly turns defence into attack with underlaps, cutbacks and whipped crosses. At his peak (2018–22) he was arguably the league’s best left-back, forming a devastating supply line alongside Trent on the opposite side. Beyond output, his biggest traits are mentality and consistency—setting tempo, dragging standards up, and playing through pain. He’s been a core piece of Liverpool’s major-trophy era.
