John Arne Riise at Liverpool (2001–2008) was all about power, engine, and a left foot like a cannon. Primarily a left-back (sometimes left midfield), he gave the team relentless running, fierce tackling, and constant attacking thrust down the flank. His trademark was the thunderbolt: long-range strikes and vicious free-kicks, including memorable hits in Europe. Riise was part of the 2005 Champions League-winning squad and later played in the 2007 final, becoming a regular under Gérard Houllier and Rafael Benítez. He wasn’t flawless defensively, but his intensity, durability, and big-moment contributions made him a fan favourite.
