Neil “Razor” Ruddock at Liverpool (1992–1998) was a cult-hero centre-back: huge personality, tough as nails, and never far from controversy. In an era when Liverpool were trying to adjust to the early Premier League, Ruddock brought old-school bite—dominant in the air, aggressive in duels, and always ready for a scrap. He also had a surprisingly decent left foot and could step out with the ball. He didn’t win major trophies at Anfield, but he became a fan favourite for his commitment and character, forming partnerships with players like Mark Wright and later Phil Babb. For many Reds, “Razor” sums up 90s Liverpool: entertaining, imperfect, and never dull.
