Adam Lallana at Liverpool (2014–2020) was the “connector” in Klopp’s early system: a high-IQ, high-energy midfielder/forward who pressed like mad, wriggled out of tight spaces, and helped Liverpool knit attacks together. Signed from Southampton, he started as a flair attacker but became most valuable as an all-action No.8/10—setting pressing traps, winning second balls, and keeping the tempo sharp. Injuries stopped him from ever having a full peak season, but he still delivered big moments (like the late winner at Norwich in 2016) and played a key squad role on the way to Champions League 2019 and Premier League 2020.
