Roger Hunt is one of Liverpool’s greatest ever strikers: a ruthless, no-fuss finisher and the club’s iconic No.9 of the Shankly era. He played for Liverpool from 1958–1969, scoring 285 goals in 492 games—making him the club’s second-highest all-time goalscorer behind Ian Rush. Hunt was central to Liverpool’s rise: Second Division promotion (1962), league titles (1964, 1966), and the club’s first FA Cup (1965). He was also part of England’s 1966 World Cup-winning squad.
