Fabinho at Liverpool (2018–2023) was the defensive anchor of Klopp’s best side: a specialist No.6 who read danger early, broke up counters, and let the attackers and full-backs fly. Tall, calm, and positionally elite, he shielded the centre-backs with smart interceptions and well-timed tackles rather than constant lunging. On the ball he kept things simple—circulating play, switching angles—and he had a knack for crucial goals, including long-range hits and big penalties. At his peak (2019–22) he was arguably the Premier League’s best holding midfielder, central to winning the Champions League (2019), Premier League (2020), FA Cup (2022) and League Cups (2022, 2024).
