Gary Lineker was Leicester City’s most famous supporter during the 2015–16 title season rather than a figure on the pitch. A Leicester-born former striker who came through the club and scored 95 league goals for them, he became one of the public faces of the fairytale as the Foxes closed in on the Premier League title. His most memorable contribution came off the field: in December 2015 he promised to present Match of the Day in his underwear if Leicester won the league, and he followed through in August 2016. In many ways, Lineker acted as the club’s proud ambassador during its most historic season.
