Arthur Chandler is one of the most important players in Leicester City history and remains the club’s all-time record goalscorer. He played for Leicester from 1923 to 1935 and scored 273 goals in 419 competitive appearances, including 259 league goals. A prolific centre-forward, he helped Leicester win the Second Division title in 1924–25 and was central to the side that finished runners-up in the First Division in 1928–29. He also scored 34 league goals in a top-flight season twice, still a club record, and once hit six goals in a 10–0 win over Portsmouth.
