Kris Boyd is a modern Kilmarnock icon: an academy product who made his debut in 2001 and enjoyed three spells at Rugby Park. Across those spells he scored 136 goals in 300+ appearances, leaving him level as the club’s record league goalscorer (121 league goals) when he retired in 2019. His first stint (2001–06) made him one of the SPL’s deadliest finishers before a big move to Rangers; he later returned (2013–14, 2015–19) and even finished 2017–18 as the Premiership’s top scorer (18 league / 23 total).
