Alan Stubbs’ Hibernian spell was short but historic. Appointed head coach in June 2014 after Hibs’ relegation, he rebuilt the side around an aggressive, front-foot style and took them to two domestic cup finals in 2015–16. Hibs lost the League Cup final to Ross County and missed promotion after the play-offs, but Stubbs secured his place in club history by leading them to a 3–2 win over Rangers in the 2016 Scottish Cup final. That victory ended Hibernian’s 114-year wait to lift the Scottish Cup. He left for Rotherham United in June 2016.
