Neil Lennon managed Hibernian from June 2016 to January 2019, overseeing a period of resurgence at Easter Road. He guided Hibs to the 2016–17 Scottish Championship title, returning them to the Premiership after a three-year absence. In their first top-flight season back (2017–18), Hibs finished 4th, reached the Scottish Cup semi-finals, and recorded memorable wins over Rangers and Celtic—earning Lennon widespread praise. His tenure ended in early 2019 after an internal suspension and mutual agreement to part ways. Lennon’s fiery passion and high standards helped re-establish Hibs as a strong Premiership side.
