Steven Fletcher was one of Hibernian’s best academy graduates of the 2000s. A powerful, quick striker, he broke into the first team as a teenager and developed into a major goal threat under Tony Mowbray and John Collins. Across his Hibs spell from 2004 to 2009, he made 156 league appearances and scored 43 league goals before Burnley signed him in June 2009 for a club-record fee of about £3 million. He was also part of the Hibs side that won the 2006–07 Scottish League Cup, beating Kilmarnock 5–1 in the final.
