In and around 1994, Hibs were managed by Alex Miller and had two notable seasons either side of the year. In 1993–94, they finished 5th in the Scottish Premier Division and reached the Scottish League Cup final, while going out in Round 4 of the Scottish Cup. The following season, 1994–95, was even better in the league: Hibs finished 3rd, made the Scottish Cup semi-finals, and reached the League Cup quarter-final. (1993–94 was also the last top-flight season using two points for a win.)
