Beni Baningime joined Heart of Midlothian from Everton in July 2021, signing a three-year deal and taking No. 6 in midfield. He made an instant impression as an energetic, ball-winning central midfielder, but his momentum was checked by an ACL injury in March 2022 (against Livingston), forcing a long lay-off. Baningime worked his way back to being a regular again and, in May 2024, Hearts rewarded him with a new contract running to 2026.
