Peter Beardsley for England was craft, intelligence, and slightly underrated class. He was not a pure centre-forward or a classic No. 10, but a link player who made attacks work through movement, close control, and sharp combinations. He won 59 caps and scored 9 goals between 1986 and 1996, playing at the 1986 and 1990 World Cups and Euro 1988. What made him valuable was how naturally he connected with others, especially Gary Lineker. Beardsley gave England subtlety rather than force, helping the team feel more fluid and unpredictable.
