Ralph Milne was one of Dundee United’s most dangerous wide players in the club’s glory years under Jim McLean. A winger/forward from Dundee, he came through at Tannadice and made 287 appearances, scoring 75 goals for United. He was part of the side that won the 1982–83 league title and reached the 1984 European Cup semi-final, with the club highlighting his pace, directness and ability to change games from wide areas. Dundee United also note that his form brought him 11 Scotland caps. He remains remembered as one of the most talented and entertaining players of that era.
