Andy Johnson was one of Crystal Palace’s best modern strikers. He joined from Birmingham City in 2002 and quickly became the focal point of Palace’s attack. His biggest season was 2003–04, when he scored 32 goals in all competitions and helped Palace win promotion through the play-offs. He then scored 21 Premier League goals in 2004–05, finishing as the top-scoring English player in the division that season. Palace’s official site credits him with 85 goals in 160 games, which is why he remains a club legend. He is remembered for pace, sharp finishing, and carrying Palace’s attack in the mid-2000s.
