Jorginho’s Chelsea spell (2018–Jan 2023) was defined by control and calm. Signed from Napoli with Maurizio Sarri, he became the side’s deep-lying “regista”: always available for the ball, setting tempo, dictating angles, and helping Chelsea play through pressure. He wasn’t about box-to-box chaos—more about rhythm, positioning, and keeping the team connected. He was also a clutch penalty taker, often finishing with that trademark hop. Trophies followed: Europa League (2019), Champions League (2021), plus the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup. In 2021 he even finished third in the Ballon d’Or voting.
