Marcos Alonso was Chelsea’s goalscoring left wing-back from 2016–2022, best remembered for thriving in a back-five system under Conte and Tuchel. Tall, technically smooth, and a major set-piece threat, he regularly popped up with decisive finishes (especially far-post runs) despite defensive questions in open space. Alonso won the Premier League (2016–17), FA Cup (2017–18), Europa League (2018–19), Champions League (2020–21), plus the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup in 2021, before leaving for Barcelona in 2022.
