Victor Wanyama joined Celtic from Belgian side Beerschot AC in July 2011 for around £900,000 and quickly became a powerhouse in midfield. Strong, athletic, and technically assured, he made 91 appearances, scoring 13 goals in two seasons. His most famous moment came on 7 November 2012, when he scored the opener in Celtic’s iconic 2–1 Champions League win over Barcelona at Parkhead. Wanyama won two league titles and one Scottish Cup before moving to Southampton in July 2013 for around £12.5 million, a record sale for a Scottish club at the time.
