Efe Ambrose joined Celtic on deadline day 2012 and stayed until 2017. Under Lennon and Deila he was a frequent starter. A versatile defender—centre-back, right-back or holding midfielder—he was calm on the ball, athletic, and strong aerially. He played regularly early on, featured in the Champions League, and became a cult figure for somersault celebrations after goals. His spell included occasional high-profile errors, but he often delivered in domestic battles and helped Celtic win four straight Scottish Premiership titles, plus a League Cup and Scottish Cup. He made 113 league appearances and scored five league goals before departing to Hibernian.
