Kris Commons signed for Celtic from Derby County in January 2011 and became a high-output attacking midfielder/winger. He combined smart movement with a left foot, thriving as a late runner into the box and from set pieces. His standout season was 2013–14: 32 goals in all competitions, Scotland’s top scorer, and winner of both the PFA Scotland and Football Writers’ player-of-the-year awards. Across 2011–2017 he scored 82 league goals in 177 league appearances. Streaky but fearless, he delivered Old Firm moments, won five league titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup, then finished with a 2016–17 loan at Hibernian.
