Harry Curtis is arguably the most important manager in Brentford history. He ran the club from 1926 to 1949 and transformed it from the lower divisions into a top-flight side within nine years. Under him, Brentford won the Third Division South in 1932–33 and the Second Division in 1934–35, then established themselves in the First Division, even finishing fifth in their first top-flight season. Brentford’s official history calls him the club’s greatest manager, and his legacy is so strong that the boardroom at the current stadium is named after him. Curtis represents Brentford’s original golden era.
